Education and Careers Subgroup Leader

I am a Cost Consultant at Mace with a passion for integrated project delivery and part of the team driving the implementation of BIM throughout the Mace Group; particularly the Cost Consultancy business.

My interest in BIM stemmed from my experience working on live projects and my exposure to the theoretical practices of BIM during my academic studies at Northumbria University.  My interests are particularly focused on the practical application BIM and its future development by construction professionals; particularly quantity surveyors.

I believe the BIM 2050 group provides an integral platform for young professionals to embrace the BIM philosophy and aid the development of a digital approach to construction.

  1. Hi Rachael,

My name is Declan O’Driscoll and I am a Masters student studying Quantity Surveying at Kingston University. I am currently in the process of completing primary research for my dissertation.

My dissertation is centered on the education of BIM for the Quantity Surveying professional with a working title of ‘A study into the education and training framework for the Quantity Surveying professionals in the UK to support the new role of a BIM Manager’.

I am looking for quantity surveyors/cost consultants involved with BIM and therefore this is why I am making contact with you to enquire into whether you are able to participate in my research by answering some questions regarding the topic above in the format of a telephone interview. I would be hugely grateful if you could help me with my research. If you wish to participate in my research please contact me via k1240518@kingston.ac.uk.

Thank you and I shall look forward to hearing from you,

    Kind regards,

    Declan O’Driscoll
